Whether the first introduced MODVAT scheme really turned out to be MADVAT as feared by the then F.M. Shri V.P. Singh? |
Definitely not. In the initial stages it was necessary to term the new scheme as a Modified verson of VAT. But later on when the scheme picked up well the new nomenclature CENVAT was rightly coined and the whole scheme has come out as as successful one. |
